Marianas Trench Update

I have posted their new tour dates in the shows section. Marianas Trench's album has been pushed back to summer 2006 now as well. However, a limited edition single for"Say Anything" will be released to select stores in mid-June, which will include the video for "Say Anything" and a couple of other tracks as well.

Jill Barber has been busy working away on her new CD, but in the meantime she will be embarking on a few tour, one of the maritimes, the west (BC & Alberta), and she will be playing a gig or two at some folk festivals and in Ireland. The Attics Update & New Music West reminder/update

The Attics upcoming tourdates have been added into the shows section. You can still read their blog from their Eastern European tour too at Macleans.ca. Their song "'68" from their album "Once A World" will also be featured on a compilation called "Homespun". "Homespun" is a compilation of songs by Winnipeg bands that was put together by "92.9 Kick FM" (www.kick.fm). The CD will be released at a show at The Pyramid Cabaret in Winnipeg on this Friday, The Attics will be one of the bands performing at the show too.

Marianas Trench and Faber will be playing at The Roxy tonight as apart of the "604 Records' New Music West Showcase". Also Catlow and The Salteens will be playing at The Penthouse tomorrow as apart of "Boompa Records' New Music West Showcase" too.

In-Flight Safety: I have added the tour dates to their upcoming tour, "Deer In The Airplane Lights Tour". Also, new In-Flight Safety t-shirts have been added to maplemusic.com. As well the video for their single "Surround" will be released soong. Plus the band has been handing out the occasional goodie recently on their official website's message board too.

Marianas Trench & Faber will both be appearing this week on 27th at the New Music West "604 Records" showcase this week as well at The Roxy.

Marianas Trench will no longer be performing on the 14th and 15th days of this month with Default due to time conflicts. Marianas Trench will be going on tour soon with Three Days Grace in Ontario, so that is why they will no longer be able to perform at the shows.

Marianas Trench update

Marianas Trench has shot the video for "Say Anything", the director for it was Kyle Davidson. Kyle Davidson has filmed video(s) for Sam Roberts, Matthew Good, and Theory of A Deadman. However, the band is of course still requesting that people continue to request "Say Anything" with radio stations too. I have updated the shows section to have their new tourer dates included in it as well, however, if you are in Grand Prairie (Alberta), Medicine Hat (Alberta), Saskatoon (Saskatchewan), or Winnipeg (Manitoba), those are the cities the band will be opening for Theory of A Deadman in over the next month and a little bit, the two Vancouver dates they will not be opening up for T.O.A.D. in though. However, the March 2nd date, you have to win to get in by entering to win a chance to see the show at www.cfox.com.

Marianas Trench is having another concert, this one is presented by 99.3 The Fox and Long and McQuade. It will take place at "The Media Club" on December 23rd, 2005, the doors open at 9:00 PM and the cover will be seven dollars. Rally Car will also be playing at the show as well.

Starting today in Surrey, B.C., Canada, tickets (which cost $5.00) go on sale at Canadian Tire, Central City Shopping Centre Customer Service Desk, Cheveron Gas Bars, Coast Capital Savings, and Dundee. And the show is apparently at the Central City Shopping Centre, on December 31st, 2005 in Surrey, B.C., Canada. The bands playing will be Hedley, Faber, with Doubting Paris, Last Days Lost, Mongoose, Sonic City, Transit Radio, and more.

On December 9th, 2005, Marianas Trench will be performing at "The Buffalo Club" in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. The guys in M.T. are billing this as one of their last shows of 2005, so, if you'd like to see them before the year is up, this will most likely be your last chance. The doors open up at 7:00 P.M. and the show starts at 8:00 P.M. The Countdowns will also be playing at the show too. The cover will be between $6-$8, and apparently the advance tickets are cheaper than the cover.

The November 13th, 2005 show in Abbotsford at "City Limits" is an all-ages show, which in addition to Lillix, Sterr will also be playing at the show too. The debut Catlow album will be released in the U.S. on November 1st, and will be released by Caroline/Boompa records. There will also be a gig in Vancouver, B.C., Canada soon too. Well, Faber will be playing at the "Santa Fox" concert this year that is sponsored by 99.3 The Fox. The tickets go on sale at 10:00 A.M. this friday at ticketmaster, they will cost $19.93, and partial proceeds of this years "Santa Fox" will go to the Vancouver Food Bank. WCMA's Boompa Records Showcase

Catlow and The Salteens will both be performing at the Boompa Records' showcase for this years WCMAs. The showcase will take place at "The Railway Club" on October 21st (this friday). Catlow takes the stage at 10:00 P.M., My Project Blue performs at 11:00 P.M., Run Chico Run starts playing at 12:00 AM, Leeroy Stagger plays at 1:00 P.M., and The Salteens start closing the show at 2:00 P.M. Catlow will also have the help on the drums by Juile from Black Rice.

Marianas Trench will be playing at "The Backstage Lounge at The Granville Island Arts Club" on October 29th. Elias and Perfect Ground will also be playing sets at this gig as well. The doors open at 9:00 PM and there are no advance tickets being sold. However, if you wear a costume to the show you will pay less for a ticket and have a chance to win a prize.

Shows section update

I have updated the shows section a bit. Now there are some new tour dates in there for The Waking Eyes. The Waking Eyes will be playing at Boston's Nemo Festival. They are going to be playing three gigs in a row in London, England soon. The Waking Eyes will also be playing at The Manitoba Rock Show before heading out to Vancouver to play at the Western Canadian Music Awards.

Catlow and Sparrow to perform at Car Free Day

Catlow and Sparrow will be performing at Car Free Day in Vancouver, B.C., Canada on Septemeber 22nd. All the events are free and they start at 12 Noon and run untill 8 P.M. Catlow will be performing on the main stage at 4 P.M. as well. Sparrow will be performing at 3:20 P.M. as well. Car Free Day will be taking place on Walter Street from Richards to Carrall.

New Limblifter tunes and Catlow news

Hey all,

I hope everyone is having a good day. Over the last couple of days Limblifter has been posting demos (for listening not download) on their Myspace website so far they have posted an early demo of "Chop Chop", a demo of "Marching with Horseflies", and a demo of "Windmilling". Apparently the band intends on rotating these songs out and replacing them with other ones, so listen to them while you can.

Catlow is playing a show tomorrow at "The Alphabet Lounge" in New York City, New York, U.S.A. at 9:00 P.M.

No Sleep finally gets some rest.

Anyone what happened to one of my other websites, No Sleep (an un-official Sam Roberts website), well I have decided to close it down. It's been fun working on the website, but I think it's time to let it go too. I will keep it in the TFI's archive, at least for now so you should be able to still be able to look at it for at least a while longer if anyone would like to still view it. Thanks to everyone who helped make No Sleep what it became. Also please feel free to visit Bangkok To Babylon for Sam Roberts related information in the future.

-Unfortunately it looks like her new album might be pushed back again. The new album might be released in the early part of next year now.

-The band is preparing to tour in September and October. They will also likely (though it's not guranteed) to start recording a new album in November, which is likely to be released by Curve Music sometime in 2006.

-They are currently recording a new album for their new label, EMI Records (in the U.S.A.).

I have updated the website a little bit today. I have updated both The Gallery and the Archive. In The Gallery I have added pictures of Limblifter (playing live), Marianas Trench (playing live), UCHU (playing live), Faber (playing live), and Hurst (playing live). I have added into the Archive, The Loft (links to the message board and to the blog archive by month...). I have also added a link to the news archive for August too.

But I simply decided to start something new and felt since the message board isn't used much, to simply put the opinions blog link in that place and to call the opinions blog "The Loft". The message board will not have a name from now on though.

"UCHU" update

Hello all,

Well the band UCHU has undergone some line up changes, Ziggy Sigmund, Mitch Andres, and Wayne Stadler have moved on. However, Graham Tuson will continue to keep UCHU going, in fact he is already in pre-production for a new album. As well as he plans to do some shows next fall in Alberta, and maybe even a show or two in California next fall.
